Good Reads

This page is for what I consider to be Books of interest that concern themselves with the Railroad & Model Railroading. Please be sure to leave any comments you may have below. Enjoy!

My first entry is for a Book I purchased at Wall Drug in Wall, South Dakota during our trip to the Badlands in S.D. Mr. Borneman did his homework writing this book as I learned things about the Railroads while reading this book that I never knew.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I give this read a 5. The clarity and detail of the writing makes you feel as though your there right beside those making the History of that time.

If you always had a desire to know what the Railroads do and why, this book is the book to read. Originally written by John Armstrong, the Legendary Layout Design Guru, this book covers everything you would want to know about the Railroads from track structure, operations, Administration, Locomotives, signalling, what the various Departments of a Railroad do and why. This is just a sampling of what you can expect to learn when you purchase this book. A great read for any railroad enthusiast who has an interest in wanting to know the nuts and bolts of the Railroad Industry.

I give this book a 5 for it's intensity and the Author's knowledge of the subject.
